Stormwater

Successful municipal stormwater management requires knowledge and collaboration among several disciplines like engineering, ecology, hydrology, and public relations and education.

Effective stormwater management requires public education, good housekeeping, and stormwater infrastructure – nature based (green) or engineered.

Education

Watershed education connects behavior to stormwater successes or failures. Education outreach can increase community support for local stormwater programs.

Bucks County Conservation District is available to help with your education and outreach events.

Collaboration

Building on public knowledge, municipalities can turn to other community organizations to accomplish intersecting stormwater management goals.

Community partnerships are built when municipalities find overlapping goals with civic organizations or interest groups. Look to the local scouting troop, gardening clubs, watershed associations, birding groups, or the Penn State Extension Service for potential project partners.
